The Purpose

What's the purpose of spending time going through values with the clients? We've heard all these different things. That's great that you may have a better appreciation for how to deliver your work to them. It's great that you may have a better way to tune your plans so that it's going to align with their values. Those are awesome. But what's the point?

The point isn't so that there's more hugs, more high fives, more kumbaya. The point is to improve the result. When there's a cleaner flow of communication between you and the wealth holders because you're understanding and honoring their values and when the plan that you present is cleaner and tighter to their needs, which is what values are, then what happens is the probability of you getting the engagement, the implementation goes up. The probability of them actually executing on it fully goes up and the nature of the relationship becomes cleaner, tighter, smoother and easier for everyone.
